He is a very smart child but in a different way than all the other children. In Wind-Wolfs family they value there culture, religion, and beliefs about there tribe. In the classroom they do not learn about any of this they don't learn about any Indian culture, and this is what the dad is writing a letter about.

This connects with what we are learning today, how we are learning that we need to respect everyone in the classroom and all beliefs.
